  1. Hello! I'm Nicole from Created Lovely Events. Not only am I completely smitten with the wedding industry but I'm a little obsessed with workshops! Only issue is, all the amazing workshops are based out of the US and this Canadian over here can't afford it all. I've been eyeing up this workshop for the past while and wished and hoped I could go and this is my chance! Fingers crossed I win an opportunity to attend. xo

  2. Hi there! I'm Sara, owner of the Philadelphia wedding and event planning company confetti & co. My business is relatively new, but I've been in the wedding industry for almost 10 years, decor styling at BHLDN most recently before I stepped out on this new adventure. I'm still very much so learning to navigate the murky waters of owning my own business - which as I'm sure you know comes with many many many trials and tribulations. It'd be so nice to get a fresh, west coast perspective, as I have been admiring what you do for quite some time now! I know i'm the length of the US away, but I'd fly in at the drop of the hat to get in on the pearls of wisdom your dream team is laying down. Can't say enough how exciting this would be for my little brand i'm building. I know it's none of my business... but yes it is (please?) ;) xo, sara

  3. This is Simi from Wanderlust Catering, a new boutique catering company in the Bay Area. I would LOVE to win tickets to this workshop! When I'm not lucky enough to be hired in conjunction with an event planner (which I prefer because it takes a few things off my hands), my clients look to me to fill that role. Timelines, floor plans, flow. I'm responsible for all of it. It would be great to learn more about what it takes to make an event run smoothly from that perspective. More so, I want to learn about the design process. With so many caterers, the design of food stations in almost an after-thought. But with really great caterers, it goes hand-in-hand. I'd love to pick up some tips on how to make my beautiful food look even better. And of course, as a new business, it would be awesome to meet some others in the industry while in beautiful Santa Barbara! Can I ply you all with cupcakes and treats? I'll bring a bunch!! :) (pickmepickmepickme)

  7. I would love to be a part of this. I just launched my company Wit & Wiley in Santa Barbara last year. I have several weddings booked but I still lack SO many essential things to make this work. This is exactly what I need at this point. I would love to be surrounded by successful creative ladies doing what they love. :)

  8. Oh man!!! Here we go....because it's my 30th birthday week, and to me this would be the most BADASS gift of. all. time; Because I already have a free ticket voucher to fly there to sunny California; AND most of all, because I launched my event + floral business last fall, so this newbie-dream-chasin-gal could use all the advice she can get!

  9. I would love the opportunity to attend this workshop. I am currently working on beginning my own planning/floral business while finishing school at a University in Los Angeles at the same time. I absolutely adore every single event you put on and every arrangement Shot Gun Floral Studio makes. I desire to learn more about the wedding industry and how to make every wedding and event perfect from the initial meeting until the send off.

  10. I love to learn and to be challenged. A few years ago I began chasing my dream of designing flowers and having my own business in the wedding and event industry. I am out of my element (I'm a wife and a mom- which I love- but I know that I can contribute and serve others in creative ways through this business dream). I feel the tremendous need to grow and gain some fresh inspiration- this would be perfect and just what I need!! I could use some help :) I have admired your work from afar and it would be INCREDIBLE to actually met you all and learn from Enjoy Events!!! Attending this workshop would be SO amazing. You all are awesome & generous for doing this! I pray I'm picked :)

  11. Greetings Enjoy Events Co. Team!

I’m Crystal from Chicago. I do not have my own event planning company nor do I work for one but for the past few years I have planned numerous events and volunteered at an overflowing number of events and weddings all for my passion of creating special moments for others. Although, my hands on experience with wedding events may appear shy from most of your inquires, my level of devotion and appreciation for creating sparkling moments for others can be immensely measured equally. The fear to dare is officially over as I am focusing on turning my passion into my career. The “It’s None of Your Business (Yes, it is) workshop is something I’ve been hunting for because of your non-secretive approach of wanting to create a network of support and enthusiasm amongst the event professionals…which is harmony to this freshmen’s ear within this super competitive industry. I would like to attend the workshop because I am eager to learn and take in teachings from your team and your showcase of event professionals so I hit the ground running with my aspirations of planning memorable weddings for others.

    Inspired,

    Crystal

  12. First of all, a huge thank you to you ladies for simply sharing your business knowledge and skills with us new kids. So many businesses these days are so secretive and don't want to share information, so I really appreciate that you wish to help others achieve their own success by sharing your expertise.

I would love, love, love to attend!

I'm Andrea and I have tentatively started my own event planning/styling company, The Party Task Force, in Pasadena, CA; however, I am a bit lost on some of the business details and do not even know where to begin finding brides/clients. I would love to learn from the best of the best and attend the Enjoy Events Santa Barbara workshop in order to learn how to get both my paperwork and a plan in place so that I can launch my event planning company in early June. Furthermore, I would be so grateful to learn from and be inspired by the amazing lineup of talented vendors you have invited so that I can achieve my (hopefully attainable) goal of having 2-3 clients and the start of portfolio by the end of 2014. *Fingers crossed!*

  13. Dearest Enjoy Events Co. Wonderwomen:

My name is Joya - I'm living in Santa Barbara, and just at the very very itsy-bitsy beginning of my hand-lettering and events/styling career. These things have been passions of mine for a very long time, but I only recently let myself truly consider a CAREER in styling and paper arts. You see, I grew up thinking I was an academic, and that arts were only for extracurricular activities. Little did I know there were entire WORKSHOPS lead by super creative, talented women to empower someone like me to achieve a successful career in events & styling! This is opening up a world to me; one that is thrilling beyond description. Thank you for the possibility of this opportunity! And keep doing what you're doing. It makes my heart soar. -Joya

  14. Hiiii!

Thank you so so much for allowing us this opportunity and always inspiring us to make life a tad prettier :)

My name is Kabra and I own maple+moss in northern ca.....i JUST launched my beauty+styling company after many years of beautifying women in salon and styling friends baby showers/bdays/etc for fun.

Im newly married and all our funds went to our wedding so my business budget needs a little more time to bulk up lol. Ive recently talked to BEinspired and they even suggested your workshop to learn how to properly jump into this industry. I love all your work and would love to get to work with you! Such. A. Blessing.

My husband has encouraged me every step of the way in this venture and doors seem to be opening for us. Im used to doing everything on my own and this industry has really taught me how to trust others, open up to others, and even allow myself to be supported and encouraged by others. THATS why this workshop would be so amazing for me and my business. It's not just business support I'm hoping to gain, but friendships and great network opportunities.

Many women will comment here because its such an awesome gift....theres not much I can do or say to pursued you (nor would I want to). We're all trying to build our business and all trust and respect your companies value, culture, and style. Go with your gut in choosing....it all works itself out :)

Best to you and keep on keeping on! WOOOHOOOO :) (www.mapleandmoss.com) check it out!

  15. Hi Ladies! My name is Vickie Berry and I just started a new little business called My Lovely Events. We do wedding coordinating + vintage rentals in Ventura County. At the encouragement of my amazing husband and family, I left my corporate job and am pursuing this full time head on. We actually signed a lease on a warehouse space today and I am so excited and honestly scared! It would mean the world to attend this workshop and absorb all of the talent that will be there!
    xoxo

  17. I'm going to be honest. My wife, Abby Matthews, told me to write this comment on her behalf.

She thought it would be cute to have her new husband (6 months now!) write one for her and pretend like she didn't know. Very cute. But the truth is, last night, she and I finished watching season two of House of Cards, and we're not keen to be the next Frank and Claire Underwood.

That means I'm not going to give you an X-Factor style sob story to manipulate your emotions - even though my childhood cat, Willow, died 14 months ago, and last night I cut my nails too short and now they really hurt.

Quite simply, this seminar would be a huge help to my wife. She'll be starting her business in the next year and a half, and she wants to learn from your expertise. She's beautiful, funny, and I still don't know why she picked me. But please pick her!

    Thanks for your time!

  19. My name is Janel and I call myself a planner. I’m always the organized one – the one that plans parties, nights out, and friend’s weddings. Planning is in my blood and while I enjoy it, I’ve never made money off of my favorite hobby. I’ve contemplated starting my own company but the timing never seemed right and I never felt the universe calling me to do it.

Until recently that is. 15 months ago my world turned upside down and my happy life as I knew it changed. A water leak forced my husband and I out of our condo and into a hotel while the condo was being cleaned of black mold and totally gutted. Then while living in the hotel, I was laid off. We ran out of money and lived in our condo with no kitchen, no floors, and relatively no furniture for 6 months. Then in June, while returning from coordinating a friends wedding in MA (for free!), we were in a car crash. I suffered serious whiplash and was in bed on meds for a month and then in 7 months of physical therapy.

On Monday this week I was supposed to start a new job after being unemployed for a year. On Thursday of last week, I got a call from the company and was told that they changed who was to be my boss, the department I was supposed to work in, and the title of the position. It was a classic bait and switch and raised some serious red flags. I told my husband about the situation and we looked at each other and knew: the universe was telling me to start an event planning company. I didn’t take the position and I’m now on day 5 of starting my own business.

I can plan, I can design, I can style. But I know nothing about running my own business and I’m not in a financial position to pay for this workshop right now. I need help learning how to price, how to advertise, how to create a comprehensive business plan, etc. After the last 15 months, I need this business to succeed. I need something positive in my life so I can start living my life to the fullest again. I would love for this workshop to be a part of my new beginning and I would love the opportunity to meet others that are also starting a business. I believe that a strong community is the key for both personal and professional success and this workshop will allow me to create the ties that are necessary for my business to succeed.
