workspace dreamland

in case you don't know, we don't have an office.  well, we actually have two offices.  but at the moment we go to all of our clients...and happily so.  we work from home, our two lovely homes where we are completely bursting at the seems with props, vases, paper, cloth, streamers and random tools you wouldn't think we'd know how to use.  but we do.  and the time has come for a space where we can collaborate, have random industry visitors and a home away from home where our clients can come and brainstorm.  so, look out...in the very near future you will be invited into the enjoy events co. workshop AND shotgun floral studio.  until then, we can dream and scheme all we want, right?  we think yes.

pretty protea

protea, you say?  what exactly is that?  it's the english common name and botanical name of the majestic  south african flowering plant, often called sugar bushes.  they come in various shapes sizes and colors and have incredible texture and vibrancy.  they are just perfect for adding a textural element to your lush flowers without being too harsh.  we love playing with them.

all in the details

looking to make your celebration just a little above the rest....  well it's all in the details.  we love those finishing touches from ornate flatware to colorful glassware.  creating a unique tabletop has to be one of our number one design elements to craft up.  we mean who doesn't want to feast on an amazing meal with stunning table decor!

shotgun floral studio

did you hear the news?  sometimes our clients like to keep all of their eggs in one basket.  for most of our 2012 clients (and some other special folks) we are offering full floral design along with our usual planning and design.  we've had this idea floating around in our heads for ages, and we've provided it informally and thought what better way to make it come to life?!  introducing shotgun floral studio.  our take on something super awesome.  holler at us!

chandler + john : durham ranch, st. helena

We're featured on 100 Layer Cake today!  Check it out...

Chandler and John's wedding was a dream come true.  Talk about the quintessential modern couple!  These two are the busiest, most active folks we know...always with their two little boys in tow.  Chandler had reached out to us about five months before her wedding...about the same time that they were deciding on Durham Ranch for their celebration.  Getting to know Chandler and John was a true pleasure and we wanted more than anything for their celebration to reflect their love for one another and their appreciation for their families and closest friends.

Durham Ranch is a beautiful property in St. Helena and its clean white fences and structures are situated between the most beautiful Oak trees you will ever see.  We began the design process by getting to know the ins and outs of the design in Chandler and John's home.  Chandler said she had multiple blue walls, that they love color and texture mixed with clean lines and that she loves the combination of soft and textural elements.  As we got to know John, we learned of his inherent acting skills and his participation in the film community (how could we not play off of that?!).  The outcome was an intimate celebration with sophistication and some eclectic charm.  We really wanted the barn to feel like a swanky restaurant and for all of their guests to feel like the party was for them, too.  The white interior of the barn allows for diversified design choices but with taller-than-tall ceilings the challenge arises of how to make the environment feel more intimate, especially with 85 guests.  What to do?  Hang lights at eye level down above the tables, project a larger than life film on the wall, bring in warmth with the flowers and place settings and provide a blanket for each couple to cozy up with.
