paper goods with a twist : dauphine press

we are thrilled to spread the word of the new look and feel of dauphine press!!  we teamed up with some wonderful folks to style a few of dauphine's invitations.  from a rustic vibe, auburn, to a more formal look, carneros, all the styles were super fun to design for.  here are a few photos from the shoot, enjoy.

getting a little excited for L + R's wedding next year.  while we're pulling together all of the little pieces for their celebration we're quite excited to collaborate with the talents of cooper carras of cooper carras photography (ahhheeem...fellow east bay dude thank you very much).  This is sure to be a good one, and SERIOUSLY, these two couldn't be any sweeter...

vessel gallery: oaklands hidden gem

its no secret that oakland's first friday art murmer is becoming a regular gathering for residents and non residents in the busy downtown art district.  on our last visit we ran into vessel, a stand out gallery on busy 25th street.  the structure is absolutely breathtaking.  two floors, slanted white walls, natural wood flooring, attractive built in lighting and an urban outdoor rooftop deck...and just about all the space you'd need to house up to 300 standing guests.  really?  from vessel...

"vessel is a unique and historic space, one of oakland’s very few standing turn-of-the-century horse stables. the gallery has been remodeled into an arts complex that combines unparalleled charm, character, and modern rustic architectural experimentation.

for your next event, rent our beautiful two-story space, located in downtown oakland’s arts district. our charming gallery has spacious accommodations, an urban rooftop garden, and a street level gallery space for more intimate gatherings. perfect for receptions, concerts, lectures, book signings or any rites of passage."

a totally amazing space.  not even kidding about this one.

in new york.

a few weeks ago we were sent to nyc to create centerpieces for the ad council event at the fabulous waldorf astoria.  indra k. nooyi, chairman and CEO of pepsico was the recipient of the 58th annual public service award.  we were asked by yahoo! - one of the event sponsors - to create centerpieces based on pepsico beverages or beverage labels.  it didn't take us long to realize that the only appropriate way to incorporate beverage containers into real, living + vibrant arrangements would be to create "real looking" flowers using recycled cans.  we got to work, ripping apart hundreds and hundreds of cans and cutting out petals, flower shapes and stems.  we flew to new york with them and got to work.

we had a fabulous stay at the ace hotel and had the pleasure of traveling with darwin of florali and meeting up with the tremendous talent of ariel dearie of ariel dearie flowers.  we created 43 centerpieces and had a blast of fun while doing it.  we ate well (can you say meatball shop, resto and prune!), explored manhattan, had a fun stint in brooklyn and didn't sleep.  at all.  how can you with so much magic?!?  while we have been to the city before, we are so much more in love now that our business has taken us there.

here are a few iphone photos of random moments, our little studio directly over the flower market (can you imagine that in sf?!?) and our product.
