the royal wedding the {enjoy events co.} way

jeepers.  the royal wedding is today.  we have to admit it's a little exciting.  this really doesn't happen very often you know.  you can bash it all you want or say that they are boring and that this is going to flood the wedding vendor market and blah, blah, blah but the last time we talked to Kate we were like "you go girl!!"  so, as the excitement rages on, here is a little board we put together with just the beginnings of how we might do the royal wedding.  you know, over here at enjoy events co.

food for "wedding" thought

we've said it before and we'll say it again.  your guests will remember what they ate.  they will.  trust us on this one.  food brings people together, and we know you have heard that one before.  it really does.  it is something for people to talk about.  it is the catalyst for a good time.  it adds depth and character, color and texture to any event and is something that should never be overlooked.  with that said, we live in the land of food...fresh food.  local and seasonal food that tastes best at its peak.  we'll be talking a lot about "food for thought," especially "food for wedding thought."  what's in season right now?  be in the know and start the conversation with whomever will be doing your delicious eats...

our "food for wedding thought" this week includes asparagus, hass avocado, strawberry and rhubarb.  these things are all in season right now in most of Northern California.  but for those of you planning for later in the year, keep checking back for more seasonal foodie inspiration.

inspiration station

this post is all about inspiration.  where to find it.  places to look for it.  and even unexpected sources for things that can get the creative wheels a turning to design your big event.  we hear a lot "I'm not sure how to find what I like..." well, take a look around you, browse through a catalog or magazine (ya know...the paper ones that you hold in your hands, you can feel the pages) take a stroll to look at an exhibit or snap away on your camera and check back later at the images you captured.  here are our top places to look for inspiration. more to come on this five part series about turning inspiration into creation...

going to the chapel & we're gonna get married

sometimes those nitty gritty planning details get the best of us and we tend to lose focus on the actual ceremony part of the big day.  one thing we tend to hear is "we left the vows to the last minute", well that's where we come in.  we get down to business to plan the little details so you can focus on the import finding your perfect ceremony spot and we can spice it up with a unique backdrop.

kate spade inspired

last weekend we got all dolled up, tossed on our best vibrant outfits and rocked the sparkles and stripes like no other...

the creative ladies of the collection styled an ultimate glitter glam + sparkly set up for us and got these lovely ladies to to join in on the fun.  we highlighted the space with our ultimate planning-ness and had a little fun while we were at it.  we can't wait to see the images captured by this rockin' photog and the video by this lad.  but until then here is a little mood board we put together for our friend kate full of colorful inspiration!

let it rain baby

more often than not we hear "is there a chance that it could rain on our wedding day?  did we pick a good time of year?  will the fog let up so the sun can shine for our pictures?"  so on and so forth...if we could control the weather we'd be a whole lot more than wedding planners + designers!  we'll tell ya that much.  we try as hard as we can to make your wedding perfect, but the one thing we can't control (nor predict) is the weather.  with that being said, some of our most favorite images from the past few years are in the fog - and the rain. sometimes pouring rain. we are in the Bay Area - especially you lovely folks from SF.  so, let go.  fly by the seat of your pants on this one.  enjoy your day - because, we'll tell you right now - we know your guests will be having a blast no matter what mother nature has in store.

take a deep breath and enjoy the day that is your wedding day - rain or shine, loves...

not convinced?  check out some of these images...

pick a number, any number

table numbers can be such a fun little wedding detail.  they don't have to be extravagant or expensive and you can make them super fun and cool, and reflective of your overall concept.  hey, it doesn't even have to be a number.  you can play around with fun words, locations or anything that represents your day while telling your guests where they'll be posted up for the delicious meal that's to come. So, have fun.  there are endless possibilities and many ways to do it yourself...

tying the knot in SF meet-up

as some of you know we threw a little shin-dig with this lovely lady at this little shop with this fabulous food and these fabulous treats last thursday to kick off the wedding season.  the lovely flowers were provided by this talented woman and this creative gal did the little invite.  we wanted a reason to get a bunch of creative bay area professionals under one roof - all while still trying to have a good time.  and, we hope that everyone did. the bellinis were flowing and all of our creative industry guests went home with a little gift from this gem...

it was a blast.  we hope to see you and work with you all very soon!!
